It’s funny the way the concept of respect works. If you are being disrespected, you demand respect. If you are the one being disrespectful, then it’s “Just a Joke” or “They’re being ‘overly-sensitive.’” But a world without respect is a dangerous world to live in, and there are lines that should not be crossed. Perhaps that’s the real meaning of “The Golden Rule.”

This Post is about the Rights of the States, as defined by the 10th Amendment. Each State is intended to be a “Sovereign Body,” entitled to Govern Itself in all regards that are not SPECIFICALLY delineated in the United States Constitution. Under the 10th Amendment, the Powers of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT are specifically limited. The responsibility of FEDERAL JUDGES in regards to STATE LAWS is to determine 1) if the Statute violates the Authority of the Federal Government as defined by the Constitution; and 2) if the Statute conforms to Federal Law, which must already conform to the Constitution. Beyond that, the States and the People retain the rights CONSTITUTIONALLY to enact their own “Community Standards” in regards to a wide array of issues.

Can someone please explain to me why it is so bad to be required to be able to identify yourself properly with documentation? I have a Driver’s License, and if I’m pulled over by a police officer, which I have been, I have to be able to show my license, my vehicle registration and my proof of insurance. When the officer calls in my ID, he or she will be verifying whether or not I have any warrants out for my arrest, if my license is valid, and if my insurance is up to date. If I don’t have a license, or my registration, or my insurance, guess what: I’m going to jail! That’s right. Until I can prove those things, I get to go to jail, and THAT’S in Florida, not Arizona!

I’m not a racist. I don’t think that just because somebody has a certain skin color that they are automatically criminals; however, there are times when logic and realism have to come into play. Right now, there is a serious problem with violent illegal trespassers crossing our border from Mexico and committing crimes against Americans. It may not be polite, but it is the truth. Ignoring the threat because someone may be insulted by the response is foolish, and leaves people open to become victims…ALL PEOPLE.

I am not ANTI-immigration. I’m PRO-immigration. And because I love my country and what it stands for, I can completely understand those who want to come here and be part of it. I embrace them as my new brothers and sisters, welcoming them to become citizens, to join in the discussion and to reap the benefits of their labors in ways that, for most of them, they could never know in the lands of their birth.
And I have this belief because I am a CONSERVATIVE.
