According to The Hill.com, the Senate failed to pass an extension of the Federal Unemployment Benefits. Intended to help stimulate the economy and help those who were affected by the earliest impacts of the Recession, these benefits were not expected to last forever, so it’s really no surprise that they weren’t extended today…except by the people who have been receiving them.

By now, you’ve likely heard countless stories about the Transportation Security Administration’s new security options: the “Backscatter” Scanner or the “Enhanced” Pat Down. If you set off the metal detector or are “Randomly” selected, you’ll be required to choose between them. The first takes a picture of your body using x-ray technology that literally removes your clothes and reveals your most private “bits & pieces.” Your other option is to be molested by Agent “Phil McGroin” and his “Touchy Feely” cohorts. Either choice will invade your privacy without provocation in the name of National Security. Is this the price we really have to pay now for the convenience of flying over driving?

This one falls into the category of “You can’t make this crap up!” Apparently, Florida’s Outgoing Governor Charlie “Flip-Flopper” Crist, who attempted two win the Republican Bid for Senator and, after declaring he would not change parties, ran as an Independent when he couldn’t beat Marco Rubio in the Primary, is going to go out from the Governorship by wasting more of the State’s appealing for Clemency for the Late Jim Morrison of the Doors.

On November 2nd, America Spoke, and Congress got what many are calling a rude awakening. With more than sixty seats changing hands in the Congress, Republicans will now have control of the House of Representatives, and the “Unstoppable” majority in the Senate is suddenly a bit more “Stoppable.” State Governorships and State Legislatures across the country have also changed hands, and Republicans across the country are doing their “Snoopy Dance” celebrations. And, for now, I’m willing to join them.

Tomorrow, November 2nd, is Election Day, the day every two years that puts the true power in the hands of the people to vote for their Candidates, their Issues, and their Principles. Your ticket to participate in this process was purchased with the Blood of our Founders and maintained by the sacrifice of our Brave Men & Women in uniform. It is, without a doubt, the most valuable gift granted to you by our Constitution, and the most valuable protection that we have against the potential Tyranny of Government Oppression. As a Citizen, it is your right to vote, but it is also your PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
