SOME GOOD NEWS AS MAVERICKVOICE TURNS 100! by T. Edwin Perry
Today is a milestone for the MaverickVoice, as I post our 100th Article on the Internet. So, since this is a Special Day, I’m going to do something Special. I’m going to do something dramatically different from what we usually seem to post here. I’m going to share some Good News. In fact, it’s not just Good News for Conservatives, but, in my opinion, it’s Good News for the United States!
First, let’s talk about “The Distinguished Gentleman from New York,” Charlie Rangel. After years of allegations going without investigation, Charlie is finally going to get his day “in court” to defend himself. The House Ethics Committee, which has ignored the allegations of his ethics violations dating back years, including reporting irregularities in Mr. Rangel’s income and the use of a subsidized residential apartment as an office, will finally be hearing the case against Charlie, who just happens to be the Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee. (FYI: this is the committee that writes Tax Law. Hmmmm…you’d think he’d know how to report his income, wouldn’t you?) Regardless of the outcome (no doubt, the Democrat-Controlled Ethics Committee will find a way to exonerate him), the fact that it will finally be investigated and heard is a step in the right direction.
Secondly, let’s talk about Progressive Representative Maxine Waters of California. Like Rangel, she’s also going to face the House Ethics Committee over her involvement in irregular banking deals involving her husband. (Conservatives know Ms. Waters best for her quote while cross-examining Shell CEO Jon Hoffmeister in 2008 when she said, “…and guess what this Liberal will be all about? This Liberal will be about Socializing…err…uhh…would be about….basically…taking over…and the Government running all of your companies.” (The dots are pauses, because she was trying to backpedal from the statement. Don’t believe me? Watch for Yourself!) Again, even if she’s exonerated from the charges, the fact that the Committee will be doing its job will finally be a step in the right direction.
And then there’s the ongoing battle over the Healthcare Reform Legislation passed earlier this year. The battle isn’t over thanks to US District Judge Henry E. Hudson’s Decision to reject the US Justice Departments request to throw out the suit. By supporting Virginia’s right to contest the controversial law, it keeps the opportunity to have the law overturned by the Supreme Court on the basis of its lack of Constitutionality.
Senate Leader Harry Reid has essentially given up on the proposed Cap & Trade Legislation, citing a lack of public support and opposition in the Congress to “push it through.” Don’t misunderstand, he’s not retreating from the goal: just reorganizing, but while he’s getting his ducks in a row, the midterm elections are fast approaching. Significant losses by Liberal and Progressive members of Congress may stop this Economy Killing Legislation before it ever has the chance to see the light of day.
And finally, while radical activists on the Left have continued to put their feet in the collective mouths of their movements, the Tea Party Activists have remained restrained, even in the face of overwhelming spite and arrogance. Though protestors were charged with shouting racist comments and spitting on Representatives when signing the Health Care Bill, no proof has come to light, even with Andrew Breitbart of BigGovernment.com offering a $100,000 Bounty on any such evidence. Even with thousands of cameras and cell phones on site, not even one shred of evidence has come out, and the movement has continued to grow in size and strength. Meanwhile, hours of video and audio exist to show that SEIU, La Raza, ACORN, the New Black Panthers, and other such groups are beset with an irrational rage over the pace of the Progressive Overthrow of America. (They don’t think it’s going fast enough!) But as they continue to spew their hatred, they lose any and all credibility, while the Tea Party has shown that rational whispers CAN be heard over the shouts of hatred.
For those of us who cling to the Principles of Conservatism that have always served to make our Nation Strong and Successful, the Beacon of Hope and Liberty for the Entire World, we are certainly frustrated at the way that our country has been transformed. Trust me when I say that we at MaverickVoice.com share your frustration, but, like you, we embrace the Foundation of our Constitution, the promise that our Rights, our Freedoms and our Liberties are protected, and that our Voices WILL BE HEARD!
And with this type of Good News, we FINALLY have some Real Hope for a Meaningful Change…in the RIGHT DIRECTION!
